The tenth chapter continues the trek of Victor to find his peace. He treks to Arveiron, which is a mountain in France. He treks to the top of the mountain. He reaches the summit and is momentarily consoled until he notices the monster coming towards him really fast. He makes threats toward the monster and cusses at him and tells the monster to go away and leave him alone. But the monster is able to convince Victor to sit by a fire with him in a cave of ice. Once they get into the cave, the monster begins to tell Victor of the events that occurred after Victor created him.
Destiny's Thoughts/Comments
I was able to relate to Victor in this chapter because when I am upset, I'm able to find a place where I can be at peace and forget about all of my problems for a little while. In this chapter though, Victor's peace was interrupted by the monster running towards him. I can imagine how mad I would be if I were in that situation and someone disturbed me when I am relaxed and at peace.
