The Monster had witnessed the daily routine of the family and returned to his hovel to sleep, but he could not find it in him to sleep. He had wanted to interact with the family he had watched, but to frightened to do so due to his last encounter with people. He then watched the family again the next day. It appeared there to be a there was a father, a brother, and a sister. The family he noticed to be distressed. He wondered why this was and later came to figure out that this was due to poverty, and starvation. As the season changed to the spring they family had grew more from their garden to sustain themselves. He then continued to watch the family until they went to their separate paths during the day, in which this time he would sleep, then he would commence to watch the family when they all got home until they went to rest. By this time he had learned the names of the inhabitants, the son was named Felix, and his sister Agatha. He had also started to pick up words here and there, realizing that he wished to contact them he decided that he must master their language before he could speak to them. Along with all this the monster noticed that Felix had been having the hardest time of all the three and decided to start cutting wood him so he could enjoy his life more. With all this the seasons changed with the monster gaining happiness and the will to communicate with people for a happier life, however he still saw himself as this horrible monster in which is why he wanted to learn.

Destiny's Thoughts/Comments
I liked this chapter because it helped me to realize that the monster wasn't all bad, and that he actually had a good heart. I noticed this because he stopped taking their food because he realized it was making them poor and hungry, and he would chop wood and leave it at their doorstep for them to use. I feel like nowadays, so many people judge others on their looks and actions. But we don't actually know anything about them. We don't know who they are, or why they do what they do. Someone could look ugly and/or intimidating but actually be a very nice person with a very good heart. I feel that the monster is actually a good person, just resorts to evil acts sometimes due to his unfortunate circumstances. This makes me feel very bad for the monster because he actually is a good person, but no one ever gives him that chance to prove it. But in this chapter, he is able to prove that he actually has a good side.
