Science isn't like other topics where you only go as far as other have gone before you and there is nothing more you can study or know. There is a scientific pursuit for wonder and discovery of more because they are always believing there is something else someone else may have missed. There is always belief in improvement and more than the eye can see. Frankenstein wants to learn about life but he knows that first he must understand death. Then after that human feelings, what makes humans so unique.
He says he is no madman but works day and night contemplating his need for success of understanding the brilliance of life to death and death to life came incredible labor and fatigue. By the time he had got the results he had only that to show for it, working so hard for an answer he had lost track of the steps it took to get there. Now feeling as if he had the answer to bringing death to life Victor felt that now he could be the one bring life in places where death had manifested. Brevin's Commentary: I can really relate to Victor working day and night to finish something that he needs to do, which is really what I'm doing with this website. I like the author's description of the process that Victor takes, working continuously for a result, working so hard that all he has to show for it is his creation, but not the steps to get there. That real seems to show his dedication due to the immense amount of trial and error he must have gone through. |
