One evening when Victor was working on the new body, Victor had sat down without enough light to keep working on his project. When he had realized he had so little light his mind began to reflect on what put him in the situation he was in now. He saw that three years ago he had embarked on discovery, which resulted with the monster being made, which he said had caused much desolation in his life. Victor then thought to himself that the creature he had first made been so horrible, that his wife could be even worse. While the monster had made promises to leave human kind alone his would be wife had not, Victor also thought that she would despise the monster as well, but worst of all he thought that they who were superior physically to humans would reproduce and plague mankind with their presence and that Victor himself would be blamed by every human for the terrible plague bestowed on them. Thinkings this as the monster watched him create his wife Victor turned and looked at his wicked smile he ripped the creatures companion apart in front of his eyes. The wretched thing then ran off. Victor seeing this got out of his lab locking the door vowing to never resume his work. The next couple hours spent by Victor were watching the sea outside his window, he then saw a person arrive at the shore, he then heard footsteps coming towards his apartment on the island. Victor being stunned in fear knowing who is arriving sits doing nothing. The wretched monster walks in asking what was Victors intent by tearing apart the body of his companion, he then explains his struggles in following Victor on his journeys and asks him if he dares to destroy his hopes and dreams. Victor tells the monster to begone and that he will never create another creature by likes of him. The monster seeing the determination in Victors face then tells him that if he can not have a companion that no man especially Victor can have a companion and with that he would make Victor curse the light and skies that he would still be alive. The monster finally excepts the fact that Victor will not sway his judgement, but remarks that he will see Victor on his wedding day. Victor then walked about the island thinking that he must dispose of the new body leaving no evidence of his work. When Victor readied to go he saw a fishing boat approach the shore and off came a man who handed him letters from Geneva, and Henry. He then proceeded to read Henry's letters which informed him of Henry leaving, to go back to London with his friends which gave him offers on the indian enterprise Henry wanted to join. Victor then went into his apartment and took the pieces of the body and tied them to rocks, Victor then went out on a boat at about 2-3 in the morning and put the pieces of the body in the depths of the water. After dumping the body Victor fell asleep on the boat. Victor woke the next morning disoriented and set sail to follow the wind in hopes of hitting land, and hit land he did however when he landed in a port town the inhabitants had taken custody of him accusing him of murder.

Destiny's Thoughts/Comments
This chapter was interesting to me and also very shocking. It was shocking to me because Victor destroyed his second creation right in front of the monster. He must have known that the monster would have felt very betrayed and very angry at Victor for destroying the female creature. So to me, it was a very brave move for Victor to destroy the creature in front of the monster like that. I thought it was kind of messed up too. He promised the monster that he would follow through with his request. Victor gets the monster's hopes up by promising the monster and getting so far into the project, and then he betrayed the monster's trust by ruining the project. He should have just followed through with his project, and maybe the monster wouldn't try to seek revenge on Victor.
